Return of the BSOD

I don't see the blue screen of death very often any more, but I wonder if that's about to change. I've been playing with Viridian, the virtualization hypervisor for Windows Server 2008. Granted that it's very much a tech preview at this point, but it's incredibly shaky. Just creating a new virtual machine seems to blue screen the box regularly.

One would assume that it will become much, much more stable as time goes on, but that doesn't always happen. When Microsoft shipped Visual Studio 2005, it was incredibly buggy.

Has anyone else been playing with Viridian? Thoughts?

I've been playing with viridian for the last month orso and is working fine, i have it running on 2 x64 servers with identical hardware (only memory is different) and on 1 machine i can not create new disks and on the other it's no problem.

I must say it's much faster then virtual server and also the support for x64 machines is working fine! Exchange 2007 and Edge connector is running fine. Even Homeserver is running fine under viridian :)

I think you have a hardware problem because 2008 RC0 is very very stable and if it does not work fine you just remove the role and reinstall that role.

Make sure you aren't running it on a box that is setup as a DC in a test environment. From the readme that will cause a blue screen. Had the same issue on my test box and that fixed it on my end.
